Out of all our home projects (and there have been and will continue to be a lot), this one has been my favorite – by far. : ) Today I am so excited to share our nursery reveal with you!
Within days of finding out that we were having a girl, I painted the room pink. That part was easy. As someone who grew up LOVING the color pink, I knew that there was only one color I wanted to paint our daughter’s room, no doubt about it. Of course, as she grows up, if she decides she likes other colors better, than we’ll change it – but for now, it’s definitely pink! Admittedly, I did not initially have any sort of theme planned for the nursery other than pink. When someone would ask me, I would literally say something like “Oh, the theme is just pink” or “The theme is pink – literally, pink everything.”
Thankfully, I’ve come around a bit more since that initial thought process, and am happy to say that the room ended up with more of an actual theme than just a color. I’ve never been a huge animal lover, so even though I know that’s fairly typical for nursery decor, I quickly decided that wasn’t going to be part of the theme. Instead, I chose florals as the theme for the room – which then evolved into a tropical, Lilly Pulitzer-inspired, Palm Beach-feeling theme. And I am so happy with how it turned out!
The blush pink on the walls is the perfect undertone for the brightly colored (mostly green) accents and really makes the palm leaf rug pop. I’ve linked a few of my favorite items from the nursery below if you’re interested in where they came from. And, hopefully our baby girl will love this room as much as her mom does.
P.S. I took these photos before the baby arrived – it’s funny to look back now and see how neat and tidy everything was before it was put to use!
